What are your paintings about?
I make paintings about self identity, women and beauty culture. I also work as an illustrator and often make comics about fashion history.
Why do you make art?
For me, making art has always been a fairly good balance between challenging myself and natural ability. It’s a fine line between being excited about how much there is to learn and yet not being too discouraged by your still green efforts. It’s my preferred mode of interaction with the world around me.
Where do you go to get inspired?
I love the be outdoors, it always inspires me to be near water. I love the two Tai Long Wans in Hong Kong (in Shek O and the other more secluded one in Sai Kung).
What is your dream project?
To have my own multi-media solo exhibition.
What will you do if you have all the power you can have?
I want to rewind time! That way I can relive my favourite memories whenever I wish and then I can also have endless time to work on every project that catches my fancy.
What would you be doing if you were not an artist?
If I wasn’t an artist I would be an organic farmer.
What is your reading habit like?
One of the habits that gives me the most joy is to read books two at a time: a non-fiction for the day (when I’m traveling on the bus) and a novel for bedtime.
“I make art everyday, be it painting or little drawings in my journal and by finding inspiration everywhere in my life.”
